Dr. Ronald Dickerson earned a BA in Social Work and a BA in Psychology from Limestone College, in Gaffney, SC. Assistant Professor Dickerson, as many of his students know him, later obtained a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University of South Carolina and a Doctorate degree in Human Services with Specialization in Social Work in Community Services from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN.
Professor Dickerson has a wide range of experiences within the field of Social Work. He has served as the Clinical Program Coordinator for the Human Service Associate Degree Program at Trident Technical College where he supervises student Field Internships. In addition to the list of academic service, he has also held the position of Department Head and Academic Program Coordinator for Human Services with Trident Technical College. His primary duties during those terms included course and curriculum development and the development of online courses.
Dr. Dickerson’s has served as a Mental Health Counselor with Berkeley County Mental Health where his primary responsibilities were counseling court appointed youth offenders and clients. His professional career also includes serving as the Program Director with the Florence Crittenton Program of South Carolina.
As an adjunct professor he has taught at the University of South Carolina (USC) - College of Social Work, Southern Wesleyan University (SWU) - Human Service Department and Associate Professor of Social Work at Limestone College.
